How to get to Naftalan?
The fastest and most convenient way to get to Naftalan is from the city of Ganja, because it has the nearest international airport and railway station. You can take a taxi from Ganja to Naftalan (the trip takes about 1 hour, and the fare is $20).
If you are traveling to Naftalan from Baku, there are several transportation options:
Taxi: From Baku Airport to Naftalan, order a taxi. This trip will take you approximately 4 hours, and the cost of the service is $70-75, but the driver will take you safely right to the entrance of the sanatorium. Comfortable, convenient, but expensive.
By Train: From Baku to Goran Station, you can reach by train (trains depart daily at 22:10 and 23:50; ticket prices are $4 - $6), and the journey takes about 4 hours. From Goran, you can take a private taxi to Naftalan (taxi fare is $5 and takes about 20 minutes). This way is less comfortable because you need to change transportation modes several times, but it is more economical.
By Bus: If you don’t like trains, you can take a bus on the same route from Baku. First, you need to get to the bus station. From the bus station, there is one bus per day to Goran station (the bus departs at 8:00 AM, ticket price is $6). The distance from Goran station to Naftalan is 18 km, and any taxi can easily cover this distance for $5.
